The content of an order for a bareboat charter will contain the fol- lowing parameters:

• Charterer’s name and domicile
• Places of delivery and redelivery of vessel
• The time-charter period
• Details about the intended trade
• Any restrictions or preferences regarding type or size of ship
• CIP form on which the charterer wishes to base the terms and conditions
• Commissions to be paid by the owner

The content of an order for a contract of affreightment will contain the following parameters:

• Charterer’s name and domicile
• Cargo quantity and description of the commodity
• Loading and discharging ports
• Laycan
• Loading and discharging rates and terms

• Any restrictions regarding type or size of ship
• CIP form on which the charterer wishes to base the terms and conditions
• Commissions to be paid by the owner

A time charter order is similar to a voyage order. However, it will not include cargo or load and discharge port details. It will contain the following elements:

• The charterer’s name and details
• Size and type of vessel required
• Place of delivery
• Period of charter
• Laycan
• Place of anticipated redelivery
• Charter party form
• Commissions payable by owner
