FAS (Free Alongside)

Under this term (which will also name the loading port, such as “FAS Rotterdam“), the buyer will nominate the port (and possibly the berth within that port) to which the goods have to be delivered, and the dates of delivery. The seller’s obligations cease when the goods are alongside the vessel at the required time. Property and risk will pass at this point and the duty to pay will arise.
