Who is a ship manager? and What are the activities of ship managers?

Ship manager is responsible for and accountable for the work of others who performs the tasks of management. Fundamental role of the ship manager is to anticipate and avoid problems and then to solve any problems that may still arise. Process of management is not a separate function within the organisation, but relates to all the activities of the organisation. Ultimate purpose of management is to achieve the objectives of the organisation. Ship managers should be aware of their immediate contacts in the organisation. It is also important to have a basic knowledge of what these other people do so that it is possible to have a better understanding of what they can or cannot do to assist you. Ship management activities has 5 basic elements:
